Cefotaxime Sodium

Description

Cefotaxime sodium is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. In plant tissue culture, it is widely applied to eliminate Agrobacterium after transformation, while promoting somatic embryogenesis and shoot regeneration in some species. Compared to carbenicillin, cefotaxime often shows less phytotoxicity and is therefore preferred in sensitive culture systems.
