Carbenicillin Disodium
Description
Carbenicillin disodium is a semi-synthetic β-lactam antibiotic belonging to the penicillin family. It is widely used in plant tissue culture to eliminate Agrobacterium tumefaciens after transformation, while generally having minimal effects on most higher plant cells. Carbenicillin is also applied as a selective agent in bacterial studies and in vitro plant regeneration protocols.
