Description
Adenine hemisulphate dihydrate is a water-soluble form of adenine, a purine base that plays an essential role in nucleic acid metabolism and plant cell division. In plant tissue culture, it is widely used as a cytokinin-like growth regulator to promote cell proliferation, shoot initiation, and callus growth. It is often supplemented in culture media to enhance morphogenesis and regeneration efficiency, especially in combination with auxins. Adenine derivatives are known to stimulate bud formation and can be applied in protocols requiring enhanced shoot multiplication.
