1-Naphthaleneacetic acid

Description

1-Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) is a synthetic auxin widely applied in plant tissue culture, horticulture, and agricultural practices. NAA promotes root formation, adventitious shoot induction, callus proliferation, and somatic embryogenesis. Compared with natural auxins like IAA, NAA is more stable and resistant to enzymatic degradation, making it especially useful in in vitro culture. It is commonly used in combination with cytokinins to control organogenesis and morphogenesis.
